Who can apply for German Job Seeker Visa?

Foreign residence who have completed their Degree or Training in Germany and want to extend their stay to find job can apply. Also Individuals from outside of Germany who are trying to get job there can also apply.

How long I can stay?

Foreign residence with student visa will be allowed to extend their stay for 18 months. This extension will start from the date of the student completing their studies. The only purpose of this visa is to find job in Germany nothing else will be allowed. After finding the job you can apply for work permit.

Individuals coming into the country with job seeker visa can stay for 6 months. If you have already found employment in Germany with a valid work contract, you need not to apply for job seeker visa. Instead you should apply for work visa directly.

Who are all eligible of job seeker visa in Germany?
  • You are a Non-European third-country citizen who needs a visa to reside in Germany.

  • You have enough financial means to sustain yourself during your time in the country.

  • You got verifiable educational or vocational training qualifications.

  • Your qualifications are recognized by the Germany government or are deemed equivalent to a German diploma or degree.

  • Valid passport issued by your government.

  • Proof of financial means. Mostly bank account in your name with enough balance to sustain in Germany for the particular time period.

  • Your current visa/residence permit.

  • Proof of accommodation.

The average processing time would be 4 to 6 weeks. But it may vary depending on the person and workload of the processing embassy.

How to reduce visa processing time?
